This Privacy Policy describe how Good Tutors LLP and its subsidiaries (collectively “Good Tutors”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collect, use, process and disclose your Personal Data through the use of Good Tutors’s mobile applications and websites(respectively “Apps” and “Websites”. Collectively, “Services”).
“User”, or “you” refers to any persons who uses our Services. “Tutor” refers to persons who has registered or uses our Services with the intention to register as a Tutor or to get tuition assignments. “Tutee” refers to persons who has registered or uses our Services with the intention to register as a Student or who have used our Services or any offline means of communication such as phone call, Whatsapp, SMS, emails, Contact Us Form, or any other means with the intention to request for a Tutor or make a general enquiry relating to requesting for Tutors. A same User can be both a Tutor and Tutee.
The User’s use of our Services is conditioned on user acceptance of this privacy policy.
1. Collection of Personal Data
Personal Data is any information which can be used to identify you or from which you are identifiable or data relating to User’s usage of our services.
Personal Data and information can be collected manually through user request forms, registration forms, phone calls, digital messages, emails, Contact Us Form etc. Information transmitted through any form of direct communication to us shall be presumed to be “collected”, unless explicitly stated by User.
Personal Data such as IP address, browser type and version can also be collected during usage of our Services and we may use cookies in connection with your use of our Services.
If you provide information about other persons(e.g. family members or friends), you must have informed consent from them to disclose their personal data to us and hereby represent them with regards to this Privacy Policy.
2. Use of Personal Data
We may use your Personal Data for the following purposes
• to create, manage and maintain Users account;
• to operate and maintain our Services;
• to facilitate our operations;
• to prevent, detect and investigate illegal activities;
• to investigate the breach of our Terms and Conditions and/or End User License Agreement and/or this Privacy Policy;
• to analyse the activities of Users for Services improvements.
3. Display of User's Informations on Services
Good Tutors as a tuition agency is tasked with matching Tutors and Tutees. Hence, we may use Tutor’s information as a form of advertisement on our Services. In doing so, details such as Tutor’s name, age, profile photo, gender, academic qualifications a.k.a. highest education level, education a.k.a. school, tuition background, tutor's description a.k.a tuition experience may be revealed to the public.
Tutor’s information we will not reveal to public include email address, contact number and postal code.
After we successfully matched a Tutor to registered Student, we will display Tutor's name, academic qualification a.k.a. highest education level and education a.k.a. school in the matched registered Student's list of Tutors on our Services.
We may use Tutee's information as a form of advertisement to source for Tutors on our Services. In doing so, details such as Tutee's education level or music grade, requested tuition subjects or musical instruments to learn, location, postal code and comments may be revealed to the public.
Tutee’s information we will not reveal to public include email address and contact number.
After we successfully matched a registered Student to Tutor, we will display Student's name and education level in the matched Tutor's list of Students on our Services.
For both Tutors and Tutees, we need to collect geographic information such as postal code in order to source for suitable Tutors for Tutees.
4. Third party actions
We can disclose Users Personal Data with third parties for the following reasons:
• on the legal request of governmental or law enforcing bodies;
• to investigate potential violations;
• to prevent technical issues;
• to enforce applicable law, procedures, and regulations in accordance with Singapore and international legislation;
• for the request of processing partner for the reasons of making payment through financial institutions;
• for the request of processing partner for the reasons of making online tutoring services;
Our Services may contain links to other Websites, Apps or Services. The User agrees that those Websites, Apps or Services have their own Privacy Policies. Good Tutors LLP is not responsible for usage, collection and disclosure of your Personal Data by those Websites, Apps or Services.
5. Retention of Information
We reserve the right to retain any personal data collected unless you explicitly request us to remove your information from our records. If you have informed us to remove your personal data, do note that we may take up to 7 days to comply and that we may retain some of your personal data internally to the extent permitted by the law.
If our company is sold, user data held by our business can be transferred to the new owner as part of the sale.
6. Protection of Personal Data
We will take reasonable organisational and technical measures to ensure that your Personal Data is protected. We limit access to your Personal Data to our employees on a need to know basis. Those processing your Personal Data will only do so in an authorised manner and are required to treat your information with confidentiality.
Nevertheless, please understand that the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your Personal Data, we cannot guarantee the security of your Personal Data transmitted through any online means, therefore, any transmission remains at your own risk.
7. Amendments to Privacy Policy
Good Tutors may modify, update or amend this Privacy Policy at any time without prior notice. The updated version will be posted on the website https://www.goodtutors.com.sg/privacy. It is your responsibility to review the Privacy Policy regularly. Your continued use of our Services or continuing to communicate or engage with Good Tutors following the modifications, updates or amendments to this Privacy Policy, whether or not reviewed by you, shall constitute your agreement to be bound by such amendments.
